Welcome to FAIRTIQ's guide to using our app in the Freiburg region! This article provides an overview of the basics you need to know to get started with FAIRTIQ in RVF.
You can use FAIRTIQ for journeys on all means of transport within the Regio-Verkehrsverbund Freiburg (RVF) network.

The following means of payments are available to pay in RVF Freiburg:
- Credit card (Visa, Mastercard)
- PayPal
- Direct debit via SEPA
Single tickets for adults and children (6 to 14 years) can be purchased via the FAIRTIQ app and are calculated using an aerial distance fare.
If multiple single trips are made in one day, there is a cap (different capping for longer and shorter trips). The price is also capped within a calendar month.
Companion mode is available for 1 additional human companion.
In the RVF region, FAIRTIQ calculates ticket prices based on an aerial distance fare called "beeline" (or "Luftlinientarif" in German). This approach differs from the usual RVF ticketing system, as FAIRTIQ does not sell standard RVF tickets.

Important Regulations
- The travel authorization is always personal (non-transferable) for the person registered in the FAIRTIQ app. The FAIRTIQ ticket is valid only with an official photo ID.
- FAIRTIQ must be activated before boarding the means of transport. Change-overs (transfers) are permitted.
- The tariff regulations and transportation conditions of RFV apply.
