The rule is simple: FAIRTIQ must be active when travelling, and stopped when not travelling.
FAIRTIQ will sell and update tickets as you travel. How many times your trips are ended and restarted during the day doesn't have any influence on the final price: The system might combine two trips if the total price is lower than the prices for the two individual trips.
Note: If your region applies the beeline fare, a new base-fare might be charged if you start a trip and stop it again (only applies in some German regions).
If you are connecting between lines (max. 25 to 30 minutes), for example between train and bus, we recommend keeping FAIRTIQ active.
