Solving location issues on Android

In order to accurately record your journey, FAIRTIQ requires access to your location data. However, some of the latest updates to Android have introduced mechanisms that prevent FAIRTIQ from accessing this data. As a result, it may not be possible for FAIRTIQ to track and complete certain journeys. This article will explain how to avoid problems.

Samsung

If you have a Samsung phone - this paragraph is highly important as location error are frequent on Samsung. 

1. Go to your phone settings > Apps > FAIRTIQ

2. Make sure that Remove permissions if app is unused is disabled

3. Go to your phone settings > Apps > FAIRTIQ > Battery

4. Select Unrestricted

5. Go to your phone settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background usage limits

6. Make sure that Put unused apps to sleep is disabled

7. Go to your phone settings > Battery and device care > Three dots (top right corner) > Automation

8. Make sure that Auto-optimize daily and Adaptive power saving are disabled

Other brands

Disable any battery saving settings for FAIRTIQ. Including Power Saving Mode, Battery Management or any third party apps. This will not affect your power saving settings for other apps. Please see below for more information on your specific device. 

1. 1. HTC: Settings > Power > Battery optimization > Not optimized > All apps > FAIRTIQ > Don't optimize > Done.
   2. Huawei:
      1. Turn Energy Settings to Normal and add FAIRTIQ to “Protected Apps.”
      2. Settings > Apps > Advanced > Ignore optimizations > Allowed > All apps > FAIRTIQ > Allow.
   3. LG: Settings > Battery & power saving > Battery usage > Ignore optimizations > turn ON for FAIRTIQ.
   4. Motorola: Settings > Battery > select the menu in the upper right-hand corner > Battery optimization > Not optimized > All Apps > FAIRTIQ > Don't Optimize.
   5. OnePlus (using OxygenOS Settings): Settings > Battery > Battery optimization > select menu at the top > switch to All apps list > FAIRTIQ > Don't optimize.
   6. Sony: Settings >Battery > select the menu in the upper right-hand corner > Battery optimization > Apps > FAIRTIQ.
   7. Xiaomi (MIUI OS):
      1. Settings > Additional Settings > Battery & performance > Manage apps battery usage > apps > FAIRTIQ.
      2. Settings > Additional Settings > Privacy > Location > ensure you are using High Accuracy for Location Mode and allowing location access.

Finally, please note that closing the app right after the end your journey might impact the price if FAIRTIQ did not have enough time to correctly locate you.
