Summary
FAIRTIQ is introducing new login methods to make your account more secure. You can now log in using email, Apple, or Google Login. Login via phone number will be phased out.
Until July 2025, your FAIRTIQ account was only linked to your phone number and SMS OTP. You can now also log in using the following methods:
- Email (login code via email)
- Apple Login (iOS)
- Google Login (Android)
SMS logins will be gradually phased out as they are less secure. All users must add at least one new login method.
An email address already stored (e.g. for receipts) does not enable login. You must add it manually under Login & Security.
- Update the FAIRTIQ app to the latest version
- Go to Menu → Settings → Login & Security
- Tap Add login method
- Select a method:
- Apple Login (iOS)
- Google Login (Android)
- Email: enter your address and confirm the code
We recommend adding multiple login methods so you always retain access to your account.
- Open Menu → Settings → Login & Security.
- If at least one login method is shown (email, Apple or Google), the migration is complete.
- If you can remove your phone number, the migration was successful.
- FAIRTIQ always requires at least one active login method.
- Refresh your inbox manually
- Open your email in a browser (e.g. Gmail or Outlook)
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Temporarily disable VPN or antivirus software
- Try using mobile data instead of Wi-Fi
Alternatively, you can use Apple or Google Login.
- App not up to date: update the app in the store
- Active trip: the section is hidden during an active trip
- Once you have added a new login method, you can remove your phone number
- This is optional. Phone number login will be phased out
- Removing it does not affect your account, trips, or settings
No. One email address can only be linked to one FAIRTIQ account.
Alternatively, you can use Apple or Google Login.
- Delete the new account: Menu → Settings → Account → Delete account
- Log in again using your original phone number and SMS OTP
- Then add your new login methods under Login & Security
Log in using one of the login methods you have added.
If you don’t have access to any method, contact support via the app.
Apple Login is only available on iOS, and Google Login only on Android.
For all devices, we also recommend using email login.
