Discover Slovakia on the ZSSK domestic rail network with FAIRTIQ – Simple and Uncomplicated
Welcome to FAIRTIQ's guide to using our app in Slovakia! This article provides an overview of the basics you need to know to get started with FAIRTIQ on the ZSSK domestic rail network.
You can use FAIRTIQ for train journeys between all stops within Slovakia on regular ZSSK train services, including the TEŽ and OŽ network (Tatra electric railway and Rack railway), as well as substitute buses. It is not valid on cross-border routes. Learn more: 🗺️ Area of validity: Slovak Rail.
The following payment methods are available to pay in Slovakia (ZSSK domestic rail network):
- Credit card (Visa, Mastercard)
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay

Companion mode is available for up to 4 additional travellers.
FAIRTIQ offers tickets based on distance travelled in most of Slovakia. In the TEŽ network, a single-trip ticket as well as a 24h capping are applied. Learn more: 🎟️ Tickets available (Slovak Rail)
Important regulations
- The travel authorization is always personal (non-transferable) for the person registered in the FAIRTIQ app. The FAIRTIQ ticket is valid only with an official photo ID.
- FAIRTIQ must be activated before boarding by swiping the means of transport. Change-overs (transfers) are permitted.
- Smart Stop can help you automatically end your journey if you forget to swipe.
- The tariff regulations and transportation conditions of ZSSK apply.
