The new VMOBIL fare system applies from 01.06.2026

With the fare change, all subscriptions for Vorarlberg currently stored in FAIRTIQ will be removed from the app. If you want to continue using your valid MAXIMO card in FAIRTIQ, you must add it again from 01.06.2026.

Why do I need to add my MAXIMO card again?

From 01.06.2026, the new VMOBIL fare system will apply in the Verkehrsverbund Vorarlberg. Therefore, all subscriptions previously stored in FAIRTIQ for Vorarlberg will automatically be removed from the app.

This applies to both automatically linked subscriptions and manually added subscriptions.

To ensure that FAIRTIQ can take your MAXIMO card into account for your journeys, you must add it again in the app from 01.06.2026.

How do I add my MAXIMO card again from 01.06.2026?

You can add your MAXIMO card again directly in the FAIRTIQ app from 01.06.2026.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Open the FAIRTIQ app.
  2. Open the menu.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Select Travel.
  5. Click on Add existing passes/cards.
  6. Select Verkehrsverbund Vorarlberg.
  7. Add your valid MAXIMO card again.

Please then check that your MAXIMO card is correctly stored in the app before starting your next journey.

Which cards and subscriptions can I use in FAIRTIQ?

From 01.06.2026, you can add a valid MAXIMO card to FAIRTIQ again.

The MAXIMO card is valid in the VVV fare area. Liechtenstein zones are not covered by the MAXIMO card stored in FAIRTIQ.

Note: Route passes and KlimaTicket domino subscriptions can no longer be stored in FAIRTIQ from June onwards.

Instead, the new KlimaTicket alternatives can be used. You can obtain further information about a possible subscription change directly from VMOBIL.

Can I continue using my existing MAXIMO card?

Yes. You can continue using a valid MAXIMO card until it expires.

Important: Add your MAXIMO card again from 01.06.2026

To ensure that your MAXIMO card can be taken into account in the fare calculation, you must add it again in FAIRTIQ from 01.06.2026.

As soon as you receive a new card, please update the details stored in the FAIRTIQ app under Menu > Settings > Travel.

What changes with the new VMOBIL fare system?

From June, there will be three fare levels in the Verkehrsverbund Vorarlberg:

  • LOKAL: for journeys in your local area
  • REGIO: for journeys in your region
  • MAXIMO: for journeys throughout Vorarlberg

In addition to MAXIMO monthly and annual passes, MAXIMO tickets for 120 minutes and 24 hours will also be available from June. FAIRTIQ automatically takes these into account in the fare calculation.

The 24-hour ticket will apply independently of the calendar day from June.
