Discover FAIRTIQ's Smart Stop feature, ensuring seamless and safe travel by reminding you to end your trips. You can activate Smart Stop via the app's settings and receive notifications indicating the option to either end or continue your trip. 

What is Smart Stop?

Thanks to Smart Stop, the FAIRTIQ app recognizes when you've stopped using public transport but haven't yet ended your trip.

In such instances, Smart Stop sends you a notification, allowing you to choose between ending or continuing your trip. And should you happen to overlook ending your trip manually, Smart Stop will  take care of it for you after a certain time.

With this feature traveling with FAIRTIQ becomes even more secure and convenient! 

How does Smart Stop work?
  1. Activate the Smart Stop feature in your FAIRTIQ app.
    To do so, go to Menu > Settings > Travel and activate Smart Stop.
    Displays the Smart-Stop settings view, containing a button to activate or deactivate it, a brief description and a picture to illustrate it.
  2. Start your trip and travel with FAIRTIQ as usual
  3. As soon as we detect that you are no longer using public transport, we will send you a notification
  4. If you want to continue your trip, you can click on "continue travelling" within 5 minutes after you received the notification.
    Displays the Smart-Stop message indicating that the current trip will be automatically terminated within 5 minutes. Two buttons allow you to end the trip early or interrupt the Smart-Stop.
  5. Otherwise, FAIRTIQ will end the trip for you. 
When exactly is a Smart Stop triggered? 

When we conclude your trip, we want to ensure that you are no longer using public transport. This is achieved by considering several factors, such as the duration since your last public transport usage, your movement patterns, and your proximity to a stop

Does Smart Stop influence your ticket price? 

No, Smart Stop does not affect your ticket price whatsoever.

FAIRTIQ operates based on the best price principle daily. Following each trip, the system automatically evaluates the most advantageous ticket combination for you and adjusts the price accordingly. It doesn't matter how many times your trips are ended and restarted during the day. 

Consequently, you can still receive a day ticket even with Smart Stop activated. However, don't forget to start the app before each trip!

What else should I know?

Smart Stop is here to assist you in case you forget to end a trip.

 The feature does not end it for you per default. So make sure to still manually stop your trip once you leave the vehicle.
