Discover the Baden-Württemberg Region with FAIRTIQ – Simple and Uncomplicated
Welcome to the FAIRTIQ guide for using our app in the Baden-Württemberg (BW) region, including the BWplus extension area! This article provides an overview of the basics you need to know to get started with FAIRTIQ in BW.
You can use FAIRTIQ throughout Baden-Württemberg and in the BWplus extension area for buses, trams, regional trains, regional express, and S-Bahn, even beyond state borders. It is not valid on long-distance trains (ICE, IC), except on certain routes where the bw-tariff applies.

The following payment methods are available in Baden-Württemberg:

- SEPA via Klarna

Currently, adults and children* can purchase tickets.
*Tickets for children are currently available in most networks (e.g., RVL, KVV, RVF, VVS). By the end of February 2025, children's tickets will be available in all networks across BW and joint tariffs of BWTG, DTVG.
The companion feature is available for 1 additional fellow traveler (child or adult).

Single tickets for adults and children can be purchased via the FAIRTIQ app, in 1st and 2nd class.
Bahncard discounts can be saved and applied where tariff regulations allow.

Important Regulations
- The travel authorization is always personal (non-transferable) for the person registered in the FAIRTIQ app.
- A personal ID must be carried for identification when traveling with FAIRTIQ.
- FAIRTIQ must be activated before boarding the means of transport. Transfers are allowed.
- The tariff regulations and transport conditions of KVV apply.
